Exploring innovative sealant solutions for the challenges of sewage treatment works, focusing on the Crossness project's unique requirements for durability and resistance.
The Crossness Sewage Treatment Works project presented a unique challenge, requiring a maintenance-free structural waterproofing solution capable of sealing high movement expansion joints within a large, elevated concrete tank. This critical infrastructure, subjected to immense weight and movement, demanded a solution that was not only robust and durable but also environmentally sustainable and non-biodegradable.
Our approach leveraged a combination of epoxy resin adhesive and a hypalon strip system, meticulously selected for their proven resilience and compatibility with the project's specific requirements. The hypalon strip, renowned for its superior resistance to chemicals, temperature variations, and UV exposure, was perfectly suited to the demands of this sewage treatment environment. By creating a waterproof barrier, we ensured the structural integrity of the tank was maintained, safeguarding it against the rigorous conditions it faces daily.
Our solution for the Crossness Sewage Treatment Works goes beyond mere functionality, offering multiple benefits that underscore the value of choosing Sealtite Sealants for challenging projects.
Unmatched Durability: The selected materials ensure the longevity of the seal, withstanding harsh environmental conditions without degradation.
Environmental Resistance: Tailored to resist the specific challenges of a sewage treatment environment, including chemical exposure and constant moisture.
Customisation and Precision: Every aspect of the waterproofing system was carefully planned and executed to meet the precise needs of the project.
Maintenance-Free Solution: Designed to be a long-term solution, requiring minimal to no maintenance, thus reducing future costs and downtime.
